Ollie @ 4 months

Ollie! You are 4 months old! Wow! You are very aware in everything around you and your little eyes just track things like crazy! You love to try and stand up with your strong legs and your dad and I get soooo excited when you put on that proud face! I think we are making gains on the number of hours you sleep during the night! We appreciate that, last night you slept from 9:30 to 3:30...we will take it! We have been very busy this month of May and you are a trooper! You are starting to like that car seat less and less....which makes mom a little nervous for all of the upcoming trips to NE this summer. You like to chew on blankets, clothes, links, anything you can figure out how to get up to your mouth. Smiling! You are smiling more and more and we LOVE it! Especially in the morning! Every morning your daddy comments on how you are "such a great morning person" :)

We went on a walk this morning to visit dad at work. On the way back you fell asleep and I just took in the moment with you. As much as moving to Wichita has been a struggle for me, there are some things that I make sure not to take for granted. Like...the walk to dad's work. It's such a beautiful neighborhood! Old tress and unique houses every which way you turn. It makes walks and runs so fulfilling and I usually end up thanking God for everything (even moving to Wichita...). Today I just felt so happy to be your mom and I want to cherish all the moments with you, even the ones when I'm just about to go loco! I thought about what would happen if I was gone, because obviously we don't know how long each of us has on this earth, and it made me so sad to think about us not being together. So as long as we are here I am going to try to be the best mother to you sweetie!

The summer has kicked off and we can't wait to spend these sunny, warm months with you, Ollie Lu!

Before shots.

After shots. The saddest thing ever. :(

Lake & Swedes

Memorial Day was Ollie's first day at the lake! Ever since I had the lil thing I couldn't wait to bring her to our cabin! The family friends came out and the whole bunch cleaned and prepped the cabin after the winter months. It was so fun putting on her suit and sweet jelly sandals that cousin Cros gave her! She went on her first boat ride and her face was PRICELESS when driving the boat with Grandpa! So serious miss Ol. I love it!

My grandma, mom, Ollie and I went to Lindsborg, KS the other day. Town of the Swedes! Four generation of girls stopped by the cutest little coffee shop called The White Peacock (& met my grandma's cousin Ruth), then browsed through some of the local Swedish stores! We embraced the big Dala horses that were disbursed around the town. And tried having someone take a pic of us, but it just wasn't working out...that's okay...we got 3 outta 4;) Thanks grandma for making the girls trip!

R & Z

My friend Rachyl got married this last weekend! Yes! Hooray! Her wedding was at this beautiful glass chapel in Shelby, Iowa. It was so prettyyyy. There were four of us bridesmaids...from New York, Nebraska, Kansas, South Carolina...bride from California...wedding in Iowa. We were a travelin' crew!

We had rehearsal Friday night, bridal shower Saturday morning, wedding on Sunday! Bim, Bang, Boom.

The whole day of the wedding Rach just kept saying that this was how she pictured her wedding day and was just so happy! I loved it! This bride was anything but stress! Cheers Rach & Zane! Have fun in Hawaii ya lil brats! ;)

I am a Mom

This year was my 1st Mother's Day! And the day was perfect. It actually started out not. Adam and I battled the night before and it was just one of those things where we were tired and Ollie kept crying and we were tired and Ollie kept fussing and we were tired. I woke up thinking "he better have planned something good for this new mom" ;) Adam and I have a joke that he is just not good at surprises. And I love them. So, this makes for interesting "special days"...But this man did amazing! I woke up glaring at the poor guy who was about to make my day so great. I don't know why he keeps me around, really. I don't clean that much, and don't cook that great. And glare at him.

Rise & Shine. Ollie's smiling and kicking at me. Morning is this girls time. For sure. And Adam looking over at me asking if I was ready for the day, trying to get my mood turned around asap. He brought me a present wrapped in blue polka dot paper (morning getting better) and told me this was partly my birthday gift as well. I opened it up and.... A Kate Spade tote that said "Eat Cake for Breakfast" (morning getting great)! I loved it (& thanks to some cousins of mine who gave him suggestions apparently)! Inside the bag was a frame with some artwork that Ollie and him made! The art was just about as cute as the story....Last week while getting my hair colored and cut, he had Ol. He was going to paint with her so he took a plastic grocery bag and tore two holes in it for her arms and wrapped it around her body like a little apron. I loved that part of the story. He put out four different colors of paint and let her pick the ones she wanted. She took her little hand that was balled up in a fist and put them in colors and painted with her fists. I loved that part of the story too. Then she started crying. And he had to figure out how to get the bag off of her without getting paint everywhere! ha. I asked if he took pics and he said he wanted to but it was a mess and a half. So cute...
Back to the perfect morning....He then gave me some papers with different activities to do that day. Mother's Day Meal, Drink, etc. Sooo FUN! And fun things. We cooked fancy Mac & Cheese with fancy schmancy cheese, made ourselves a lil' fruit-filled Sangria, I got a massage, & DQ blizzard! Perfect! He nailed it.

Thanks Adam (& Ollie) for making my first Mother's Day so memorable! I'm glad that I can write about it now so I never forget! Such a good husband. I really don't deserve him.

Also, Ollie and I wore matching outfits to church. Let's talk about how fun that was. Super super fun.

***And to my mom! Thanks for everything you do! Not only for me, but for Adam and Ollie. I wish I could've spent the day with you as well! But I'll see you a lot this summer! I'll basically reside upstairs.
