Ollie @ 2 Months!

Ollie! You are two months girl! You have grown a lot in this last month...chubby thighs, adorable smiles, and your lil personality is starting to shine through! You have LOTS of funny faces that keep us entertained. We like that. I love holding you and do that for a majority of my day. When you sleep sometimes you make 5 faces in 5 seconds and then return back to your peaceful slumber. Ha. It's so stinkin cute! I always wonder what you are thinking about to cause such faces! Right now you have been going to bed around 11, sleeping until 2 or 3am, I feed you and then you sleep until about 6. Not bad. I think this is the little schedule you made for yourself now. I try to be thankful when I wake up with you in the middle of the night to make my "tiredness" go away. My cousin Abbi tells me that she tries to pray when she's up in the middle of the night with her little babes. So I have been trying to do that...and I always start with being thankful for y-o-u! yep, my precious thing!

At 8 weeks I had to go back to work for a couple of months...so, started you with a daycare that is down the road. Your dad's across the street working and I will be only 5 minutes away! I'm super sad to be away from you:(  So, we will see what happens with that.

Here are some of the sweet memories you had this past month...

I took you on a couple walks to see Daddy at work.

You started taking the binky a little...still not huge fan.

We cuddled a lot:)

6 weeks! Celebrate!

A "sauna bath"... as Gma Z says.

Your little sad face. This doesn't even capture the "pre-sad face" cuteness.

Your "looks"...

2 month checkup. Before shots.

aaand after...

My "woulda been" Spring Break

This past week was my school's Spring Break...even though I was still on maternity leave (which ends too soon as I go back later this week- I try not to think of leaving my little partner in crime. Sad, but summer is only 2 months away!)... My mom's good friends threw me an "after" baby shower so they could meet little miss Ollie Lu. It was so fun and perfect! We also attended my friend Amy's wedding, went to some baby play-dates, went to a baby shower for one of my Aphi friends, and had some friends come visit Wichita with their little one! I feel like we conquered a lot in a short amount of time!

March Madness

Adam and I usually try and fill out a bracket for a little friendly competition during March Madness. Adam mocked me as I chose my teams. I usually do it in a similar fashion as the lady below.

And...guess who is winning right now. Me.

And, now that we are in Wichita it only seems right to root for Wichita State! That's where I took the lead over dear Adam. Stats Schmats. Go with your gut.

Ollie @ 1 Month!

It's been 1 month since our sweet little Ollie Lu has entered the world and changed our lives! Adam and I are are still adjusting and taking it all in. Every day we fall more in love with her...and every day Adam asks me if I knew being a parent of a baby would be this hard! ha. It's crazy how you have to plan out simple tasks like going to the store, running to Target to grab diapers, taking a shower, and eating a meal! We are amazed at all the people we know with more than one kid- I hear you just get super powers and such;) !

Ollie is growing and has started moving her arms and hands a lot. It's fun to see her big eyes open and try to track. She usually wakes up every three or so hours during the night so we are debating trying a "schedule" or not...She loves baths and it's so cute to see her little body calm down once the warm water runs over her tiny tummy. There has been two big blizzards here in Wichita in the last couple of weeks and we were stuck indoors for a bit. Ol and I also came down with the cold too, so that wasn't much fun:( However, Adam has been great and has helped take care of his sick girls! For a man that needed many many hours of sleep before the baby, he sure is handling the lack of sleep pretty darn well! One night we realized we needed to take "shifts" to make it through...he took the first shift and let me sleep from 9-midnight. She was being fussy. He said at one point he realized that "he was a dad", he had a bottle in one pocket of his sweatpants, his ipod in the other pocket (which connected to his headphones to helps him get through the crying), Ollie on his shoulder and a sheep that plays music locked in his arm while bopping around the house at 11pm. Ha....and magically, we have Daddy Adam!

Ol, I'm pretty sure all I do during the day is feed you, change you, take pictures of you, text pictures of you, wait for dad to come home for lunch, watch talk shows, and try to eat large quantities of food in a matter of minutes so I can keep up with your needs. It's a different kind of "hard work", but you are worth it my dear! xoxo
